Sheekh means wooden stick and so Sheekh Kebab means Kebabs on the stick. Traditionally Sheekh Kebabs are made of minced meat but that does not mean that it cannot be made with vegetables. Here is an easy to make sheekh kebab recipe that is completely vegetarian.

Vegetarian sheekh kebab recipe

  1. 1. Vegetarian Sheekh Kebab Recipe

Ingredients• Finely Chopped Carrots: ½ cup• Finely Chopped Cabbage: ½ cup• Finely Chopped French Beans: ½ cup• Frozen Peas: ½ cup• Boiled and Grated Potato: 1• Roasted and Ground Chickpeas: 3 tbsp• Cashewnut Powder: 3 tbsp• Black Pepper Powder: ½ tsp• Garam Masala: ½ tsp• Bread Crumbs: 4tbsp• Shahi Jeera (or cumin seeds): 1 tsp• Grated Ginger: 1 tbsp• Chopped Green Chillies: 3• Vegetable Oil: 3 tbsp
  3. 3. Chop all the vegetables
  4. 4. Heat oil and fry cumin seeds
  5. 5. Add ginger and green chillies
  6. 6. Add chopped vegetables and salt
  7. 7. Cook till they are limp
  8. 8. Add everything except the oil to the vegetables
  9. 9. Make a pliable dough
  10. 10. Put the dough around the skewers
  11. 11. Cook the kebabs in a little oil
  12. 12. Turn them over when they are brown
  13. 13. Sheekh Kebabs are ready to serve
