  3. 3. Accessing your Files Accessing your dropbox files is like accessing any other folder on your computer. You can do it in two ways: 1. Double click the Dropbox Folder icon on desktop 2. Double click the tray icon

  6. 6. Sharing Collaborative Folders - Desktop You can share a folder right from your computer if you've installed the Dropbox desktop application. 1. Open your Dropbox folder. 2. Right-click or Control-click on the folder you want to share to bring up a menu. 3. Select Dropbox > Share This Folder.... This will open the Sharing page on the Dropbox website. 4. Select Share This Folder... from the contextual menu 5. Enter the email addresses of the people you want to invite. 6. Add a personal message if you'd like and click Share folder.
  7. 7. Sharing read only links to files or folders If you do not require the other person to edit the files you are sharing, you can just share a link to that folder or file. The person you’re sharing with doesn’t have to have a dropbox account to download the files. And if you update the file, they see the updated version.
  8. 8. Sharing Links - From your Desktop If you have the Dropbox desktop application on your computer, simply control-click (or right-click) on the file to open its contextual menu. Choose Share Dropbox link. The link will be copied and you can immediately paste it anywhere.
  9. 9. Sharing Links - On the Web Interface 1. Sign in to the Dropbox website (if you haven't already). 2. Right-click on the folder or file name to open the contextual menu. 3. Click Share link from the drop-down menu. Once the link is created, a preview window appears. Enter the email addresses of the people you'd like to send the link to or select Get link to copy the URL so that you can paste it in your email, instant message, etc. This preview page is also what others will see when they use your link.
  10. 10. Sharing links - Mobile Devices 1. Launch the Dropbox app 2. Navigate to the file you'd like to share and tap into it. 3. In the top navigation, tap on the share button in the upper right hand corner. 4. Now choose the way you'd like to share the file. For this example, we will email the link. 5. Dropbox will now launch you into the app you've chosen to share through or copy the link to your clipboard.
