  2. 2.  FMD is endemic in Iran ◦ Serotypes A (A05, AGVII), O (Panasia II) & Asia1 are most dominant serotypes which isolated from samples. ◦ Cattle, sheep & goat are most affected animals  Rarely buffalo and wild cloven hoofed animals (deer, …) find with clinical signs.
  3. 3.  In Oct. 2015 number of outbreak increase rapidly in EPI units. ◦ It was mainly in unvaccinated farms but even routine vaccinated dairy farms were affected. ◦ Cattle were main affected animals.  A GVII isolated from samples which submitted to WRL.  Monovalent Local vaccine produce in RAZI institute to control the outbreaks.
  4. 4.  From Feb. 2016 mortality increase in new born lambs due to Myocarditis in sheep herds. ◦ Serotype O isolated from samples in CVL (Iran Central Veterinary Laboratory)  It was report of dead puppy from Kordestan province (West part of Iran) but dead body was not available.  Another report from Esfahan province (Central part of Iran) with two dead puppies . ◦ puppies have been fed from FMDV affected lambs. ◦ Myocarditis was major signs in one dead puppy autopsy .
  5. 5.  Heart samples submitted to CVL from puppy and two other dead lambs.  Serotype O confirmed and isolated in CVL.  Samples submitted to WRL ◦ Serotype O linage PanAsia-2 confirms in puppy and lamb samples. ◦ Further analysis of heart samples ongoing
