After all the recent ecological disasters and the rising sense that thing are coming to an end, this conversation class concentrates on vocabulary and fluency when talking about 'The End of the World'.

Some such programs could not distinguish between the year 2000 and the year 1900. Other programs would try to represent the year 2000 as 19100.

Use in conversation <ul><li>We can use what we’ve talked about today </li></ul><ul><li>Task: This week, speak to a foreigner </li></ul><ul><li>Did you catch the news today about that flood? </li></ul><ul><li>I read in the paper today that the world will end in 2012… what do you think? </li></ul><ul><li>I heard on the radio today that life as we know it will cease to exist… is that true? </li></ul><ul><li>How about the volcano in Iceland? Terrible isn’t it? </li></ul>
