8. What is a hypervisor?
A hypervisor or the virtual machine monitor is nothing but the computer
firmware, hardware, or the software which creates and runs the virtual
machines. The computer on which the hypervisor runs is called the host
machine and the virtual machine is called the guest machine.
They are mainly of two types:
Type 1 or the Native/Bare metal Hypervisor: It runs directly on the hardware of
the host and manage the hardware and guest operating systems.
Apart from VMware ESX and ESXi, other hypervisor includes Microsoft
hypervisor, Citrix XenServer, Oracle VM, and, etc.

Type 2 or the Hosted Hypervisor: It runs on the conventional operational
system.

9. What is Fault Tolerance?
VMware Fault Tolerance delivers continuous availability for the virtual

continuously. Fault Tolerance [FT] could be enabled for most of the virtual
machines.
10. How do you secure the vCenter server and the users?
By authenticating the vCenter with the Active Directory, one can assign specific

11. What is Virtual Desktop Infrastructure?
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure [VDI] hosts the desktop operating system on the

computing as it is the variation on the client-server computing model.
