VPRO vs YouTube

  2. 2. WHEN? April 13th: first meeting VPRO <> YouTube. April 20th: VPRO launches 4 YouTube channels!
  3. 3. WHY? The VPRO wants to be where it’s (potential) audience is. The audience spends a lot of time on YouTube. Therefore the VPRO wants to be present on YouTube.
  4. 4. WHY? Google is the default content search engine. YouTube is becoming the dominant video search engine. You can only be found by YouTube when you are on YouTube ...
  5. 5. WHY? We are working on atomizing content. Let people share, embed and distribute. YouTube is instrumental in that respect.
  6. 6. WHY? People want your content and put it on the net anyway. Benefit brandwise and trafficwise. Start your own channels. Be offensive not defensive!
  7. 7. HOW? Don’t frustrate your audience, give them full content! But point them to your own rich internet sites as well. Make it a two way thing ...
  8. 8. HOW? We focus first and formost on our own sites, but wanna be present on all valuable platfoms YouTube, iTunes, IPTV, AppleTV, digital tv.
  9. 9. ISSUES Rights. What are you allowed to do with which content? How do you minimize extra work? Digitizing... Branding. How do you make shure you benefit?
  10. 10. ISSUES Figures. How do you make sures the views on YouTube add to your normal stats. Marketing. How do people find you within the YouTube masses?
