  1. 1. Welcome to English 4A CR…It’s Time To Get Started!
  2. 2. First things first… you are probably wonderingwhat you’ll be doing in English 4ACR?This is a class that will prepare students for the skills they will need to be successful in college and in life. Students will learn to apply critical literary terms as tools for learning, understanding, and communication. You will read and write about a variety of subjects and genres. 2
  3. 3. A road map to the class: Read important announcements here. Click this button to join an Elluminate Live session.Read all about Ms. Schindler in Staff Information. Click “Orientation” to learn about the class. These are the unit buttonsthat contain the lessons and assignments. Post your discussion assignments here. Find tips and tricks for theclass in “Course Resources.” Send Ms. S an email by click on the “Messages” button.If you are having technical issues, contact the “Help Desk” Get instant help by instant messaging Ms. S.Check you current grade in the “My Grades” section.
  4. 4. Where do you start?• Start by clicking on the “Utopia and Dystopia” button on the menu.• Make sure you go through the sections in order. It is really important that you go through the class in order. If you skip around you may not have learned the skills needed to complete a certain assignment.• If you have any questions or need help, make sure to contact Ms. Schindler. 4
  5. 5. Course Projects• There are three projects in English 4A CR: – The Poe Project – War Poets Project – Wealth and Poverty Project• Each project has four parts: Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking.• Please submit all four parts for each project at one time. 5
  6. 6. Submitting an Assignment:• After you complete a project, you are ready to submit it for grading.• Step 1: Find the assignment you would like to submit. Projects will have a yellow folder next to the assignment name. 6
  7. 7. Submitting an Assignment:• Click on the bottom link: Submit your assignment here. Click to submit your assignment. 7
  8. 8. Submitting an Assignment:• Attach your assignment by clicking the “Browse” button. 8
  9. 9. Submitting an Assignment:• Choose your assignment document to attach and press return or enter. 9
  10. 10. Submitting an Assignment:• Click on “Add Another File” to add your second document. Repeat until you have attached the entire project. 10
  11. 11. Submitting an Assignment:• Click “submit” to send the assignment to the teacher for grading. 11
