  2. 2. Our commitment to the environment comes naturally to us. Webelieve that the best place we can all begin to conserve andprotect our natural resources is in our own backyard. We are continuing to explore and introduce important initiativesthat will help the planet. Our commitment will continue as wedevelop new ways to improve everything we touch – from thefacilities we design, to industrial plantings, to driving economicdevelopment. The KPC Group is built on the tenets of the Triple Bottom Linewhose foundation is based on the well-being of the people andcommunities where the company conducts its business(people), sound and sustainable environmental practices(planet), and sterling financial performance (profit). Our global objectives are to: reduce the pressure on the world’s natural forests by providing alternative fiber and products drive change from a petroleum-based society to a bio-based society create an industry that is carbon negative, off-grid and that follows the principles of the International Living Future Institute.

  7. 7. Preface SAIG (Self Assembled International Group), a subsidiary of the KPC Group; is currently exploring international expansion options in India. A cutting edge transportation company, SAIG currently manufactures low cost electric vehicles in Vietnam for global distribution. Our philosophy is to provide eco-friendly transportation as a safe and affordable option to low income families while making a positive impact in the markets we faithfully serve. Through the 3 principles of environment, education, and employment; SAIG wishes to support India’s innovation and people. The following proposal outlines how we will accomplish this through cooperation.

Input: Bamboo and other natural grass fibers. ……………………………… Usage: Power, Auto Bodies, Seats, Interior Panels,Our bamboo plastic composite from bamboo powdercontent, particle size, type of coupling agent, etc. Thebamboo-plastic composite is made of extrusion andinjection molding process. Results show: when bamboopowder content is 30%, impacting strength of thematerial is the highest; the bamboo-plastic compositewhich made of Silane and MAPE has higher impactingstrength than others; when PP: HDPE = 2:3, theimpacting strength of the bamboo-plastic composite isthe highest. Compared with these factors, the couplingagent on impacting strength is the most obviousinfluence.

  21. 21. Bamboo Wind Turbine and UtilityFirst implementation of this technology was an innovative segmented bamboo fiber Postscomposite mast that can be assembled on-site during the wind turbine installationand can provide a number of short and long term benefits:Durability: organic fiber composites actually have a longer lifetime and do notrequire maintenance (such as painting and corrosion protection). They also havevarious mechanical advantages such a better fatigue resistance.Significant weight reduction of >40% over steel means that, for example, each ofour prototype mast segments weighs less than 30kg; therefore the segments can beeasily handled and transported by two installers, supporting ease and efficiency ofinstallation.A greener and more appealing product: Using carbon-sequestering organic fibersand ecological resins, our towers are actually carbon-negative and can be recycled. The more appealing and less industrial looking product design - which can havenatural or painted finished - blends better into the typical environment for small andmedium size on-shore turbines.Cost savings: The prototype bamboo composite mast has been costed on par withcomparable steel masts at current prices (as of 2012). However, steel prices show along-term upwards trend; small turbine manufacturers were already hit hard in 2008from a doubling of steel prices. By replacing considerable amounts of steel withorganic fiber composite, we reduce the impact of such price rises.Sustainability: Organic fibers can be sourced from various locations, and do not onlysupport the environment, but also local communities. We have developed small andmedium volume manufacturing processes that can be implemented in smallworkshops and with regional proximity to the target markets.
  22. 22. Bamboo Wind Turbine BladesRecently, a large number of scientists and manufactures Bamboo Polymershown their interests on natural fiber reinforced composites. BladesNot only because of the relative lower cost, but also withbetter renewability. Longer lasting than conventional carbonIn wind turbine blade application, bamboo shown its low polymersweight and fastest growth rate, as a result, bamboo laminate No International Shippingcould work as a candidate of the core materials of the blade. Costs =Low CostThe operation load of bamboo laminate is Wind Turbine technologylower than UD-glass fiber composite, but for Indiabetter than Balsa wood which is the othercommon used nature composite. 23. 23. Bamboo Wind Turbine Street Light Bamboo Street Light, the concept streetlight will cut the use of conventional electricity. So, it comes equipped with a small wind turbine integrated into the top of the light. During the day, the Bamboo Eco Street Light harnesses wind energy and stores it in an underground battery. When it gets dark, the stored electricity can be used to power the light. The specially designed turbines can rotate to any direction to maximize power generation. It comes embedded with intelligent light sensors that control any minor fluctuations in daylight, and accordingly, turn the streetlight off and on when required. Moreover, it flaunts low voltage LEDs to disperse the light.
