Exam tips

 1. 1. Exam Tips
 2. 2. A few days before the exam it is important to: Eat Sleep relax! Your main revision should be completed now so just look over main points to keep them fresh in your mind.
 3. 3.

Check you have spare:

Pens/pencils

Batteries for calculators

Tissues

Boiled sweets (personal favourite of ours!)

 4. 4. In the exam room

Read the whole exam paper first

Relax , take some breaths and even have a stretch

Read the paper again . Your brain should be starting to get going by now! If not do not panic, we are all different, just read the paper again and take some more deep breaths.

 5. 5. In the exam room

If you are not sure on a question move on . Do not sit and stare at it and panic. You can come back to it later.

Mind map all the information that comes to your mind when reading a question before committing to writing an answer. You will be able to pull out the relevant facts from the mind map.

If writing an essay answer, for each point:

Make your point

Support your point with evidence e.g. Quotation

Explain your evidence (How does it support your point?)

Link to your next point

 6. 6. In the exam room

Proof read everything. Check for simple errors like capital letters, punctuation and the front is filled out correctly

When the exam has finished- forget it . Don't go through it in your mind, it won’t help and it won’t change anything!
