To help achieve the country's ambition of becoming a global hub for startups by 2020, the Startup Gathering day in the 5 cities (Dublin, Waterford, Cork, Limerick and Galway) opens with a 'Startup Island 2020 Forum'. The goal of each Forum is to bring together key decision makers in each city to hear international experts insights into what underpins successful startup ecosystems. To help accelerate momentum towards the 2020 goal attendees will participate in a breakout session.

Following this they will hear senior representatives from their city of the key enablers of successful global startup hubs (investors, state agencies, large corporates, research centres and service providers) share how they are contributing to the 2020 goal by growing their collaboration with local entrepreneurs and their startups. Each Forum features a high profile keynote speaker sharing their vision for a key opportunity for the city and is also the opportunity for the voice of the city's entrepreneurs to be heard about their first hand experience of what it is like to start, scale, succeed from Ireland."
