    9. 9. Progress in Southeast Asia • FLEG(T) actors have sustained and built momentum • FLEG(T) is linked to broader political processes • Timber legality assurance system development is advancing – in country level
    10. 10. Lessons
    11. 11. Develop regional communication and build capacity • Set standards and share best practices • Support consistent communication • Build regional ownership of the forest governance problems and reforms with an emphasis on the education of future generations
    12. 12. Integrate with other sectors • Forest sector has important impact beyond forests, trees and forest products • Address social and economic development - this would enable the regional FLEG process to link up with other important social and economic development issues
    13. 13. Work with demand-side measures • Demand-side measures against the trade in illegally harvested timber and timber products increase private sector buy-in • Create synergies between national TLAS systems and private sector certification schemes in order to avoid unnecessary duplication of efforts
    14. 14. Invest in stakeholder participation and transparent decision-making • The quality of stakeholder processes and transparent decision-making will continue to be a focal area of work and discussion in the regional FLEGT process
    15. 15. 21 Address law enforcement through comprehensive governance approach Work through stakeholder engagement, involving civil society and industry with governments Conclusion – Successful strategies of regional FLEG
