TRAINING COURSES’ MAIN OBJECTIVE <ul><li>To provide a high quality training to people having different levels of educational and professional growth, through an “ad hoc” training for different professional profiles, assuring the different training courses a strong European value </li></ul><ul><li>Courses with an EU oriented contents: </li></ul><ul><li>Students will become aware of real needs of different European countries </li></ul><ul><li>Students could have the opportunity to move to other European countries for a stage in order to strengthen the training experience </li></ul>These relationships will promote and facilitate the scheduling of stages spent abroad for interested students Role of Politecnico di Torino – DITIC towards the internationalisation objective: - POLITO is a member of the ECTRI Association (European Conference of Transport Research Institutes) - POLITO cooperates with an important French research institute, INRETS (Institut National de Transport et leur Sécurité)

THE PROFESSIONAL PROFILE REQUIRED The new role figured out correspond to a “territorial logistics” profile , having developped transport and territorial planning competences , able to interact with different regional contexts and social phenomenas Need for new qualification and for a different training system in order to fit new required competences that increase exponentially The working structure concerning the transportation competences’ market is changing (WORKFRET, 2000) The “traditional” role of the logistical expert (the “industrial logistics” traditional profile) is no more required <ul><li>The territorial logistics’ expert correspond to a medium-high role: </li></ul><ul><li>(s)he should be able to interact with local public administrations </li></ul><ul><li>(s)he should be supported by junior roles in order to assure an efficient coordination and a real systemic activity </li></ul>systemic knowledge is mandatory

SYSTEM ACTIVITIES: THE OPEN LAB Created to test and concretely feel what has been learnt theoretically and to learn how to relate to concrete situations. i.e. Monitoring of the effects produced by sustainable development measures applied in specific areas by the students themselves, in order to understand the effect of fighting pollution produced by transport.

SOME CONCLUSIVE REMARKS <ul><li>The stage period in transport enterprises has a key role in the training project as: </li></ul><ul><li>it is the way students can really face concrete working problems </li></ul><ul><li>is a big opportunity for people looking for a (better) job </li></ul><ul><li>it can be spent abroad in order to compare different EU countries working habits </li></ul>The training centre’s system provides high level and performing courses well spread out within Piemonte region: The training courses’ European value and internationalisation purpose can also be pursued with remote lectures held by foreign professors or technician 3 operational provinces (Torino, Alessandria, Vercelli) Moodle E-learning platform : students can easily find out lessons’ presentations and study on their own
