Partnership Forum: Process and Event Partnership Forum Event 7- 8 July Bangkok, Thailand Broad based in-country and regional consultative process on identified themes Global email and web-based consultation and discussion Maximum use of existing regional and global meetings to involve stakeholders Broad consultation required to identify representatives to event; requires support and facilitation Nov 03 – Jul 04 Jul 04 – Nov 04 - ongoing Ongoing consultation process and partnership building activities Report back from event provided by representatives and available online Coordinated report presented to Global Fund Board for their consideration and action (November 2004) Global Fund Board responds to input and communicates to stakeholders action taken Ongoing consultation and discussion feeds into national processes

Partnership Forum: Themes <ul><li>CCMs : review of effectiveness of CCMs (civil society involvement, relations with other mechanisms) </li></ul><ul><li>GF as a new Financial Mechanism (review of current funding policies, role of LFA, PRs) </li></ul><ul><li>Results : what impact (reduction in infections, illness & death) has been achieved so far at country level, has it reached the people in need, has the money been additional? </li></ul><ul><li>Public-private partnership (is the GF building effective partnerships at global and country level; public private partnership? Partnership with people and communities living with the diseases?). </li></ul>

Partnership Forum: Participation <ul><li>Preparatory discussions/input: </li></ul><ul><li>Internet and email discussion fora will provide opportunities for broad consultations and information sharing (H&D Networks) – PartnersGF </li></ul><ul><li>Existing country and regional meetings on related issues can spend some time discussing GF themes and ensure input is fed into process </li></ul><ul><li>Discussion activities and process can assist in deciding which delegates should be sent to the event - stakeholders who do not normally have access to governance structures </li></ul><ul><li>Discussions must cover all three diseases </li></ul>

Partnership Forum: Participation <ul><li>Event: </li></ul><ul><li>Secretariat has funding to cover 120 participants, others funded by outside sources </li></ul><ul><li>Limit of 600 for entire event </li></ul><ul><li>NGOs will play a key role at the Forum – participation of people living with the diseases will be emphasised </li></ul><ul><li>Regional constituencies also have allocations (e.g. Eastern Med.) </li></ul><ul><li>Individual applications will also be received </li></ul>
