S - For dayone,my studentsare goingto watchvideosandlookat pictures thatare all aboutsafaris.By
the endof the day,the studentswill be able totell me three differenttypesof safari animalswith
descriptionof looksandnameswith95% accuracy.
S - For the methods,medias,andmaterials,we will use Youtube videos, photographsfoundthroughout
the internet,anda visual tourof the ColumbusZoothat theyhave a website for.
U - We will utilizethe methods,medias,andmaterialsbywatchingall the videos.We will discussand
orallyanswerquestionsaboutthe videocontent.We willlookatthe picturesanddiscussthe looksof
the animalsthatwe see.We will listentothe tourguide onthe virtual tourto listenforotherfactswe
may nothave gottenfrom the videosorpictures.
R - I will require learnerparticipationthroughthe involvementthe studentshave withourdiscussions
and if theycan answerthe questionsthatare asked.
E - I will evaluate the studentsbythe oral feedbackandanswerstheyprovide.
Day 2 -

at. The studentswill recite the songsandinformationtheysaw onthe posterswith90% accuracy.

class.
U - We will utilizethese methods,media,andmaterialsbylisteningtosongsthroughYoutube videos.
The studentswill learnthe songsaswe listentothemeacha few times.The studentswill lookatthe
postersandwe will discusswhatisshownonthem.
R - The studentswill participate bysingingordancingalongwiththe songsandtellingme whattheysee
and understandfromthe posters.
E - I will evaluate the studentsonparticipationandhow well theyseemtograspwhat ison the posters
and the wordsof the songs.
Day 3 -

use theircreativenessandwill create theircraftswith100% accuracy.

paper,popsicle sticks,glue,feathers,cottonballs,etc.
U - We will utilizethese materialsbycreatingeitherasafari adventure hatormask to become one of
the animals.
R - The participationof the studentswill be occurringwhile theymake theircrafts.
E - I will evaluate the studentsbyhowwell theyparticipate.Itwill notbe judgedbythe artisticability.
Day Four -
A - Twentythirdgrade students.There are twelvesgirls andeightboys.Twostudentsare African-
Americanandthe rest are Caucasian.
S - For dayfour, the studentswill create theirownsafari.Theywill use theircraftcostumestheymade.
Theywill alsouse all the informationtheylearned.Theywillplan outwhere eachanimal willbe andhow
the explorerswillcome through.Theywilldosowith95% accuracy.
S - For methods,medias,andmaterialswe will use all the craftswe made.We will alsouse the songs,
posters,andinformationwe remember.
U - We will utilizethisbywearingthe costumes.We will use the informationfromthe songs,posters,
and videostomake oursafari as realisticaswe can.
R - The studentswill participate bycreatingthe safari.Iwill letthemdecide where everythingwill go.I
will helpif needed,butIwant the studentstoworktogethertocreate theirsafari.
E - I will evaluate onhowwell the studentsworktogether.
Day 5 -

S - The studentswill complete andperformtheirsafari adventure.Theywilluse the informationthey
learnedandthe crafts theymade to doso. Theywill have theirsafari adventurewith100% accuracy.
S - We will use the same medias,methods,andmaterialsasdayfour.We will use informationfromthe
postersandvideos.We will use the craftswe made.
U - We will use these medias,methods,andmaterialstomake sure we are makingoursafari as realistic
as possible.The studentswilltalkabouteachanimal astheygo throughthe safari.
R - The participationwill judgedbythe studentsbeinginvolvedwiththe safari.Theyhave the choice to
be a safari explorerorananimal that isin the safari.
E - I will evaluate the studentsonif theyunderstandinformationaboutthe animalsandhow involved
