  3. 3. 1.01 Describe the absolute and relative location of major landforms, bodies of water, and natural resources in the United States and other countries of North America. •Relative location means to locate a place relative to other landmarks while absolute location is locating a place using a coordinate system. •For example, you could give the relative location of St. Louis, Missouri as being in eastern Missouri along the Mississippi River southeast of St. Charles, but the absolute location of St. Louis is 38°43' North 90°14' West.
  4. 4. 1.02 Analyze how absolute and relative location influence ways of living in the United States and other countries of North America •It helps people give directions to each other. •It helps people find something when they are lost. •It helps in understanding what is around you.
  5. 5. 1.03 Compare and contrast the physical and cultural characteristics of regions within the United States, and other countries of North America. •Not only is the climate a tad different but a lot of the beliefs between the United States and other countries in North America is different. We also have different flags, laws, culture, different language and many other differences. But we are all from North America a lot of people are given the same opportunities.
  6. 6. 1.04 Describe the economic and social differences between developed and developing regions in North America. •Different parts of North America is more developed then others. The regions that are less developed are more economically challenged and have more of a difference in the social make up of the society. •http://usa.usembassy.de/travel- regions.htm
