■ A retired law enforcement officer highly trained in security
management, Emblez Longoria has worked as a senior security
consultant atVerizonCommunications since 2004. Over the
course of his career, Emblez Longoria has also served on boards
and councils at ASIS International, a global community of
security professionals.
ASIS International oversees certification programs, educational
events, and professional development activities to help security
practitioners enhance their knowledge and advance their
careers.The group also offers members several learning
resources, including various publications.

3. ASIS International
■ In the ASIS online bookstore, security professionals will find a
product catalog featuring 85 publications.The books focus on a
range of topics related to crime, national security, physical and
operational security, and risk management. All of the publications
are available to both ASIS members and nonmembers, while
members receive a discount on purchases.
In addition,ASIS International publishes Protection of Assets
(POA), a comprehensive security reference guide covering various
subjects. POA is available in both print and online versions.ASIS
also produces the award-winning magazine Security Management.
Each issue features articles to help security professionals stay
informed of the latest security threats and practical solutions for
addressing them.
