2. Introduction
 For over a decade, Emblez Longoria has served as a
senior security consultant with Verizon
Communications, Inc. In addition to his professional
activities, Emblez Longoria contributes to several
charitable organizations, including Goodwill Industries
International, Inc.
In a recent press release, Goodwill announced that it
is joining over two dozen U.S. corporations in a
national effort to enhance the skills and credentials of
American workers. The new partnership, Business
Champions Supporting Credential Completion,
encourages businesses to provide support for
employees to pursue degrees, vocational training, and
post-secondary credential programs.

3. Upskill American Workers
 Increasing the supply of skilled labor will help to
improve the employability of individual workers
and maintain America’s competitive edge in the
global marketplace.
Companies such as Cigna, McDonald’s
Corporation, and PepsiCo are collaborating with
Goodwill on the Business Champions partnership.
The venture is also sponsored by The Aspen
Institute Skills for America’s Future, the Council
for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL), and
