Office em. exit 2 1 Fire safety system 4 3 11 1 •Escalators … •Downward escalators are only used for fire escape and it has side water curtains for human safety from fire. •Elevators … •All elevators go to ground level incase of any fire or other emergency •Corridors… • In corridors They use coned shaped lighting and escape signs • only used fire escape staircase

Cairo university faculty of engineering department of architecture masters studies 2004 •The mall has an alarm system that avoids false alarm and makes the following actions: • detect the fire in the first stages by the detectors (smoke , infrared and heat detectors) and the place is shown on the info board. • when fire is detected the info board acts the following actions:  send messages for the alarm for the building  send messages for the A.H.U to stop to avoid fire spreading.  send messages for elevators •Fire alarm… Fire alarm system  send messages for smoke duct system • the main info board works to be sure that the fire fighting system is working and safety system. • it also is responsible of fighting fire by different agents in different spaces such as mechanical . Electrical room and elevators. • the building contains emergency speaker system. • the building contains an automatic emergency caller. •speakers •Smoke duct. •Deluge detector •detector •Alarm. •The alarm system is an automatic one but also can be used as a manual one in emergency cases
