  4. 4. 1950 Le publicitaire américain Alex Osborn, met au point la technique du brainstorming, et sensibilise le monde de l’entreprise à la pensée créative.
  5. 5. 1960 Création d’un premier programme inter-départemental à l’université de Stanford, la majeure de Product Design. Ce programme se veut centré sur l’humain.
  6. 6. 1987 Peter Rowe publie son ouvrage «Design Thinking» aux presses du MIT
  7. 7. 1991 à Palo Alto David Kelley fonde l’agence de design IDEO, qui met au point un nouveau mode de résolution des problèmes. Décloisonnement, dynamisme et remises en question sont les maîtres-mots des concepteurs du «design thinking» chez Ideo.
  8. 8. 1999 Suite à un défi lancé sur la chaîne ABC News, Ideo crée un nouveau caddie de supermarché en 5 jours, en appliquant ses méthodes de résolution de problème complexe, avec l’aide de plusieurs professions: designers, médecins, logisticiens etc…
