  2. 2. Note-Taking Skills Write only on one side of the paper. Use a 3-ring binder so that you can keep your notes organized. Create a lost signal to use whenever you get lost taking notes.
  3. 3. Note-Taking Skills Make sure your notes are labeled and your pages are numbered. Put your name on each page. Use standard abbreviations. listen for introductory, concluding, and transitional words and phrases.
  4. 4. Note-Taking Skills Leave space between your notes. Use words and phrases, instead of complete sentences, if possible. Copy diagrams, equations, dates, definitions, and illustrations word-for- word.
