  • A premium is been paid for graduate degrees—an additional $14,000 average annual earnings for a master’s vs. a bachelor’s degree and an additional $48,000 for a doctorate vs. a bachelor’s. This chart only includes full-time employed workers 25 and over.
  • Now of course these numbers reflect a different environment, just to give you an idea of how these correlations hold up in the current: BLS seasonally adjusted left to right rates as of March 2009 = 9% (high school); 4.3 bachelor’s and higher. (and don’t see it broken out by master’s, prof. or doctorate yet). Likely that the “rule of halves” holds here as well” between bachelor’s and doctorate.
