Explain your reasoning 122 Solution Since the wire introduced is a perfect conductor and is introduced in parallel to bulb B so no current will flow through the bulb B and the attery will see three bulbs bulb C,D and A in parallel. i) Since the voltage aroubd bulb A remains same in both the cases so the current i.e I = V/R will remain same in both the cases. ii) Since initially there was some amount of current passing through battery and after connecting a conducting wire in prallel to battery , no current passes through bulb B. SO current decreases. ii) Assuming resistance R of each bulbs and calculating equivalent resistance we get R eq = 3R/5 So total inital current passing through battery is 5V/3R Equivalent resistance after connecting wire R eq = R/3 So current flowing through the battery is 3V/R So the current through battery increases .
