  2. 3. Brno <ul><li>BRNO is the second largest city in the Czech republic, located in the southeast of the country and has about 400,000 inhabitants. </li></ul><ul><li>Brno is a university town. The city has five public universities with twenty-seven faculties and six private universities. The number of students exceeds 80,000. </li></ul><ul><li>Brno is located in the southeastern part of the country, at the confluence of the Svitava and Svratka rivers. </li></ul><ul><li>Brno is a statutory city. It is divided into 29 city districts. The supreme body is the city council. The mayor is Roman Onderka. </li></ul><ul><li>Brno represents the centre of the province of Moravia, one of the historic lands of the Bohemian Crown. </li></ul>
