MP Bärbel Höhn | Chair of Environmental Committee | German Parliament | COP22 November 2016 | Page 2 PARIS AGREEMENT: Keeping the increase in global average temperature to well below 2°Degree above pre-industrial levels; aim to limit the increase to 1.5°Degree Climate neutrality in the second half of this century As conclusion: • Industrial countries should decarbonize until 2050 • Developing countries until 2070 Governments agreed to come together every 5 years to set more ambitious targets and report to each other how well they are doing to implement their targets. Industrial countries mobilize USD 100 billion per year by 2020 and extend this until 2025

We need: • better city planning (reduction of urban sprawl) • green buildings • innovative concepts for the mobility and heating sector • decentralized renewable generation CITIES: SOLUTION TO CLIMATE CHANGE

Building and heating sector: modernise and improve energy performance (e.g. insulation, renewable heat pumps) Reducing agriculture´s greenhouse gas emissions. IMPORTANT QUESTIONS FOR GERMANY
