  1. 1. Have a monthly schedule. Read Quraan regularly andtry to always keep yourself busy and youll find it easierto fastSince Ramadan and Qur’an are closely connected I willsay that much of our devotional life should be focusedon the Qur’an. 
  2. 2. Helping others to break their fast as well entails greatbenefits. Fasting really tests our patience; to feel the hungerand thirst. It should also teach us gratitude andhumility. 
  3. 3. The devil is chained up during Ramadan,but only for those who fast. Allah is readily open to accept all we ask of Him. Itsonly our own loss that we lack in begging Allah forthings we need. 
  4. 4. Break your fast with a date. (Its Sunnah.) Upon Sehr and Iftar time, eating too much fooddefeats the purpose of fasting. 
  5. 5. Buy in huge bulks, so that you dont have to keepgoing to the supermarket every other day. Do not cook a huge range of dishes to break your fast- it defeats the purpose of fast. And do not make thewife cook all the time.  
  6. 6. If youre travelling, do not fast.If you cant fast due to health problems youcan always help others break theirs which alsoentails reward.
  7. 7. Eating at Suhoor time (during Fajr) is essential because it keeps yougoing throughout the whole day, which makes fasting easier. Andthe Prophet (S) warned us about being too extreme. So eatsomething at least.During the hottest part of the day, stay in cool areas (indoorsor in shade) and limit your physical activity. Exercising whilefasting kind of defeats the purpose of the latter.
  8. 8. During early evening (after maghrib), have a healthybalanced dinner. Do not overeat & drink a few moreglasses of fluids. If you have to go somewhere at a time when youneed to break your fast, or youre at work, take somedates with you. 
  9. 9. Seek forgiveness. Remember Allah says whoever isdeprived of the blessings of Ramadan, is trulydeprived. “Whoever fasts Ramadan out of faith and in the hopeof reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.”(Bukhari & Muslim)
