Question 8 of media questions

 1. 1. 8.
Analyse your questionnaires and produce pie charts/graphs of the information you have gathered. How have the answers influenced your ideas or changed them?
2. 2. What is your favourite movie?
As you can see the majority of people preferred Comedy, with Action and Rom-com second and third most liked.
3. 3. In a movie trailer do you prefer it to tell you about the movie or leave it as a surprise?
80% of the people surveyed stated that they enjoy the mystery or surprise being left to the movie, rather than the plot being given away too much in the trailer.
4. 4. Are movie trailers important to you?
This time 100% of the people surveyed said movie trailers are important to them.
5. 5. Would you go online to watch a trailer?
Only 1 person said they would not go online to view a movie trailer.
6. 6. In a horror movie what would you say scares you most?
Over half the people stated that they found ghosts the scariest thing when watching a horror movie.
7. 7. What is your favourite horror movie?
People were welcomed to write what they wanted in the answer section of this question so the answers are varied. This gives me an accurate opinionated answer rather than just having options people could choose from.
8. 8. Did you see the trailer before you viewed the movie?
This has lead me to believe that trailers do have an effect in getting people excited to see a film before its released.
9. 9. If yes, what attracted you from the trailer?
The options again were down personal choice, not chosen by me. This has left me with a lot of answers, but of better quality and more use to me as the person being surveyed has written what they want.
10. 10. How many trailers would you estimate you watch a month?
6-7, 4-5, 2-3, and 0-1 were all drawn with 2 people choosing them each.
11. 11. Are you more likely to watch a movie from a director that you recognise from another film?
This was totally split, 50% saying they are more likely to watch a film from a director they recognise and 50% saying they were not, so this data is of some use to me but not a whole lot.
12. 12. How long would you watch a movie trailer for? (Seconds)
This information lets me know the length of time I should be focusing on when filming/editing my trailer.
13. 13. Do you use social network websites?
This has made me realise I should be including some sort of facebook icon in my poster and website.
14. 14. How old are you?
The age range is showing me the rating I should be aiming for with my movie, a 15 seems to be the most sensible option.
15. 15. Would you go on a movies website to find out more information about it?
This again is 50-50 and shows me that a website is worth it in the end.
16. 16. Conclusion.
Overall I feel the answers from the questionnaire have helped me shape my original idea into a more specific story and have made me think more about options such as ghosts, social networking, ratings and the length of my trailer. But then again twice I received feedback which was 50-50, this is useful to some extent, but it makes things hard to say for definite.
