Key elements of NCLB <ul><li>States must develop their own accountability systems (largely standardized tests). </li></ul><ul><li>Schools must make “adequate yearly progress” in standardized test scores. (Those that don’t are put on a published list of “failing schools,” and parents can transfer their students to another school.) </li></ul><ul><li>All teachers must be “highly qualified” (by 2005). </li></ul><ul><li>Schools must use “scientifically based” practices and methods. </li></ul><ul><li>Students must be “technology-literate” by eighth grade. </li></ul>

What is a Webquest? <ul><li>In short… Webquest is “an inquiry-oriented lesson for individual learning in which most or all the information that learners work with comes from the web . ” </li></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Teachers will give a task to students to work on either individually or as a group. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Teachers will provide information and appropriate resources needed to accomplish that task. </li></ul></ul></ul>

REMEMBER! <ul><li>Save your entire script in a Word document </li></ul><ul><li>Give yourself enough time to encode the video, as video processing takes time with online tools. </li></ul><ul><li>Do not change any of the settings when the program loads. It will only let you save if you use the defaults . </li></ul><ul><li>Xtranormal is not a free service. However, every new account comes with 300XP free . The “points widget” near the top shows how many xtranormal points (XP) you have available and how many you’ll need for your movie. Make sure you do not exceed 300XP to create and publish your movie.  </li></ul>
