Reduce current levels of security stock by 10% and total wastage production derived from excess stock, while improving or at least maintaining current product availability and consequently out-of-stock levels. 2. The project teams may strategize to focus on improving the forecasting error, but the challenge objective is broader, as described in the previous point.

  19. 19. 19 MIGROS’ CHALLENGE Predict fraud using transaction data and labeled fraudulent transactions • Provide accurate predictions to prevent fraud and reduce loses by 10%. • Provide insight into what factors determine a fraudulent transaction. • Provide decision makers insight for considering other fraud prevention measures (such as cameras)

  21. 21. 21 UBIMET‘S CHALLENGE Quality control of weather observation data • Crucial input to various analysis and forecast models • Quality indicators: – Spatial Consistency – Temporal Consistency – Parameter Consistency • WANTED: – Real-time algorithm capable to detect erroneous data • Benchmark with existing quality control algorithm ERROR or REALITY?
  22. 22. 22 RACC • RACC is the biggest Spanish motoring club with around 1 million members. • The main services that RACC provides to its members are roadside assistance, medical and legal advice, travel assistance and traffic information. • RACC is one of the main traffic information service providers in Spain. Traffic information is mainly delivered trough an app: Infotransit (300k downloads).
  23. 23. 23 RACC’s CHALLENGE Improving the road safety • Objective: increase the awareness of all the users of the road about its risks and, therefore, increase the levels of road safety. • Datasets: – Road traffic accidents. – Morphologic road parameters. • In this phase: opening only a sample of the full dataset. Now only Barcelona province. Next phases: the rest of Spain.
