Extract from Fried Chicken shop Mode of documentary This documentary is an Institutional Documentary which shows the day to day life of the workers in a fast food restaurant/takeaway as a fly-on-the-wall insight. Interview/narration/ voiceover style: (Formal, informal/ scripted/ spontaneous) Voice over of a male, in a informal way and is scripted. Media Language Camera Work - Quick cut aways from shot to shot. - Close ups of the people in the shop. - Over the shoulder shot of the owner having an interview - Close up of the food and the workers handling and cooking the food. Editing - No editing just straight cut aways from shot to shot. - fade in and out of a plain black background saying the title of the show. Sound - Male voice over - Chatting and loud noises of the drunk people in the shop. - Music which give it a tense vibe. Mise-en-scene/ iconography - In a uniform for the actual shop. - Tables and chairs in the restaurant. Differing Styles of Documentaries: Making notes about how language is adapted to fit the genre/form/mode/subject matter

Interview/narration/ voiceover style: (Formal, informal/ scripted/ spontaneous) A formal and scripted female voiceover. Media Language Camera Work - Quick snap shots , that are just jump cuts from one to the other. - Medium shots to get all their body in. - Over the shoulder interview shots when they ask them and they talk about there way of life. Editing - Straight jump cuts from one shot to another. - No editing as it gives it a real sense of it being real. - Fade in and out of the title page. Sound - Upbeat music that you instantly makes you think of the travelling community. Mise-en-scene/ iconography - Big fancy pretty dresses. - Lots of them (big crowd) - Long hair - Fancy make-up. - Lots of shots of the big posh scenery, showing you the royalty at the races.
