  6. 6. Tactical Mission Task The specific activity performed by a unit while executing a form of tactical operation or form of maneuver. It may be expressed in terms of actions by a friendly force or effects on an enemy force . See also mission statement ; operation order . (FM 7-15)

  8. 9. DESTROY Physically render an enemy force combat-ineffective until it is reconstituted.
  9. 10. DEFEAT Enemy force has temporarily or permanently lost the physical means or the will to fight. Defeat can result from the use of force or the threat of its use.
  10. 11. NEUTRALIZE results in rendering enemy personnel or material incapable of interfering with a particular operation
  11. 12. SUPPRESS temporary degradation of the performance of a force or weapon system below the level needed to accomplish the mission
