To place a hold, go to www.eclibrary.ca
Click on Catalogue
Enter the title of the book you want.
The Item Information Record will tell you if
a book is on the shelf or checked out.
Click on one of the Place Hold links.
A login screen will appear.
Enter your login information (see next slide) and
choose where you would like to pick up the item.

College or Nipissing University
The number on your Canadore or
Nipissing id...
Select an expiration date for the hold (a date
after which you no longer need the book).
This tells you that the hold was placed
successfully.

How Do I Place A Hold On A Book?

  2. 2. What is a “hold”? When you wish to sign out a book that is on the shelf OR checked out to someone else, you can place a hold on it.
  3. 3. If the book is on the shelf: o The Library staff will retrieve the book and hold it for you. o This is called an “on-shelf hold”. If the book is checked out: o It will be recalled and held for you. ~ Please note it will be held for 3 days only! ~
  4. 4. To place a hold, go to www.eclibrary.ca Click on Catalogue
