Deconstruction Project
Due Monday, August 30th
Directions:
Take apart and 3 or more black and white magazine images and
reassemble some of the pieces to create a composition with new
meaning. Your artwork should fill the entire 5x7 composition with no
white space. Cut neatly with scissors and exactor knifes and glue
neatly without excess. Be creative – create an image that is
significantly different from any of the original, creates a new meaning
or mood, and activates the entire composition.
Requirements:
5x7 railroad board
no white space
3+ black and white magazine images used as resource
significantly different from all originals
Good craftsmanship in gluing and cutting

Consider the following:
What makes a photograph interesting?
What makes a photograph a work of art?
What mood, meaning, or message do you hope to convey in your
collage?
How will you achieve your goal?
