  2. 2. Definition: <ul><li>A metaphor which is drawn-out beyond the usual word or phrase to extend throughout a stanza or an entire poem, usually by using multiple comparisons between the unlike objects or ideas. </li></ul>
  3. 3. An example Charlie by Dan Hruby, Charlie Arndt, and Evan Weeks Charlie is a bomb. He is waiting to explode. The bomb is full of anger; he has a short fuse. He may go off at any time.
