  1. 1. 4 Hugh Vol. 42 September 26, 2017 Number 37 Let Us Reason Together We are encouraged in the Bible to have the mind of Christ (Philippians 2:5). Infants having minds like He had as a babe in the manger is not that hard. “…God hath made man upright…” (Ecclesiastes 7:9). Therefore, babies have no evil thoughts. Having the mind of Christ gets more difficult as we go. At twelve years of age, Jesus went with Joseph and Mary to Nazareth, and was subject unto them (Luke 2:42-51). O how young people today need to have the mind of Christ in willingly subjecting themselves to their parents! What was the basic mind-set of Jesus Christ while He lived on earth? What did He firmly determine in his mind? Here it is. “For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me” (John 6:38). That is what Jesus made up His mind to do. Seeing what having the mind of Christ involves, we realize that we have a real challenge. Dear brethren, if we, like Jesus, truly set our minds on doing the Father’s will, heaven will be ours for sure after awhile (Matthew 7:21). --Robert Kingsley “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 7:21). 2. 2. From the Library Last week I introduced you to our library; this week I would like to introduce you to the ladies who have so diligently worked with me to see that all of our books were processed and put on the shelves for your benefit. They have inventoried, typed, cleaned, copied and put up with me and still worked diligently without complaint. The next time you see them please thank them for their work. They are Annie Martin, Betty Beard, Twinette Wallace, Emily Williams, Hilda Ratliff. Without these ladies our library might never have existed. I want to thank them all for their hard work and Renee for her help with ordering books and supplies and doing leg work. These ladies need our thanks for their hard work and some long hours and most of all for their willing hearts and hands. Our library is so much more inviting now that we have furniture donated by Jean Smith. We appreciate what has been done to make our library a more inviting place.
