  2. 2. Some Background Information <ul><li>Each year all primary schools submit data to the government. </li></ul><ul><li>Foundation Stage Data </li></ul><ul><li>End of Key Stage 1 Data </li></ul><ul><li>End of Key Stage 2 Data </li></ul>
  3. 3. Expected Outcomes <ul><li>Foundation Stage </li></ul><ul><li>Made up of 13 scales – each have 9 points. </li></ul><ul><li>The expected outcome is that children reach point 6 on each scale by the end of Reception (13 x 6 = 78points) </li></ul>
  4. 4. Expected Outcomes <ul><li>Key Stage 1 </li></ul><ul><li>Children are expected to reach level 2 by the end of Year 2. </li></ul><ul><li>Each level is sub divided into 3 sub levels 2c </li></ul><ul><li>2b </li></ul><ul><li>2a </li></ul>
  5. 5. Expected Outcomes <ul><li>Key Stage 2 </li></ul><ul><li>Children are expected to reach Level 4 by the end of Year 6. </li></ul><ul><li>Again, level 4 has sub-levels: </li></ul><ul><li>4c </li></ul><ul><li>4b </li></ul><ul><li>4a </li></ul>

Eastborough <ul><li>Before 2004 Eastborough was regularly close to the bottom of the league table for Kirklees schools. </li></ul><ul><li>In 2004 Eastborough was one of the most improved schools. </li></ul><ul><li>Since then results have levelled off year on year, but are still towards the bottom end of the table. </li></ul>
  7. 7. Foundation Stage <ul><li>Our children make good progress in Reception. </li></ul><ul><li>However, they still leave Reception below their Kirklees peers on ALL of the 13 scales. </li></ul>

  17. 17. Foundation Stage <ul><li>The attainment at the end of Reception for children at Eastborough is lower on all 13 scales. (see table) </li></ul><ul><li>Progress is good in Reception. </li></ul><ul><li>So the average achievement of children on entry is lower at Eastborough. </li></ul>
