2. Thomas Alva Edison was born in Milan,
Ohio on February 11th 1847.
His parents names were Samuel and
Nancy Elliott Edison.
Thomas went to school for a very short
time. His mother spent time teaching him
at home.
3. Thomas had six older siblings.
He was known as Al when he was
growing up.
Thomas Edison lost most of his hearing
when he was young.
4. At the tender age of ten Thomas built his
first science lab in his family’s basement.
To make sure nobody took his prized
chemicals he labelled all of his bottles
“poison”.
5. Thomas Edison did not invent the light
bulb instead he improved a 50 year old
idea.
In 1879 he was able to produce lasting
light!!
6. Thomas Alva Edison died on the 18th of
October 1931 in New Jersey.
