Amygdala Hijacks<br />AMYGDALA HIJACK = the physiological response to intense sensory stimuli triggered by the amygdala, impacting the prefrontal cortex. <br />In less than 1 second, triggering the amygdala can increase the heart rate 55 beats/ minute. <br />It also sets in motion neuro-chemical changes that enable us to respond to stressful stimuli <br />
