  • Objective:Show the transmission model included in the full powertrain model from the previous slide.Message: Transmission models can be easily constructed based on gear train schematics and clutch selection tables.This transmission model is based on a gear schematic that uses three connected planetary gears to provide four gear ratios. Gear ratios are selected by engaging and disengaging clutches in a specific pattern, shown in the clutch selection table and provided in a lookup file.
  • Objective:Show results from a driveline simulationMessage: Realistic data can be generated from your driveline simulations in a very short amount of time. MapleSim allows for extremely efficient and high fidelity creation of your physical systems.In this slide: The results show the behavior of the engine and vehicle during the drive test. The engine revs up until the gear number is increased. The RPMs decrease in response, then increase until the next gear is engaged. The vehicle tracks the desired speed very closely, and we can see the fuel consumption stabilize.
