  1. 1. Acts 26:23 That Christ (Messiah) should suffer, andthat He should be the first that should rise from thedead, and should shew Light unto the people, andto the Gentiles. There is no othermessage that willsave men’s souls. March 31, 2013 1781 Salem Road, Rossville, GA 30741
  2. 2. We have set aside a day we call "Good Friday" to remember the death and burial of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. We remember because it is only by His ShedBlood that men and women can be saved from sin and from hell and receive eternal life with God. 2
  3. 3. But our greatest joy is that Jesus did not stay in the grave, but was raised from the dead in the Power of Gods Holy Spirit.John 20 1 The first day of theweek cometh Mary Magda-lene early, when it was yetdark, unto the sepulcher, andseeth the stone taken awayfrom the sepulcher. 3
  4. 4. 2 Then she runneth, andcometh to Simon Peter, andto the other disciple (John),whom Jesus loved, andsaith unto them, They havetaken away the Lord out ofthe sepulcher, and we knownot where they have laidHim. 3 Peter therefore wentforth, and that otherdisciple, and came to thesepulcher. 4
  5. 5. 4 So they ran both together: and theother disciple did outrun Peter, andcame first to the sepulcher. 5 And hestooping down, and looking in, sawthe linen clothes lying; yet went henot in. 6 Then cometh Simon Peterfollowing him, and went into thesepulcher, and seeth the linen clotheslie, 7 And the napkin, that was abouthis head, not lying with the linenclothes, but wrapped together in aplace by itself. 5
  6. 6. 8 Then went in also that otherdisciple, which came first tothe sepulcher, and he saw,and believed. 9 For as yetthey knew (understood) notthe Scripture, that He must John rememberedrise again from the dead.10 Then the disciples went Jesus Words, that He would be raisedaway again unto their own from the dead.home. 6

  8. 8. 14 And when she had thussaid, she turned herselfback, and saw Jesusstanding, and knew not that itwas Jesus. 15 Jesus saith untoher, Woman, why weepest thou?whom seekest thou? She, supposing Him to be thegardener, saith unto Him, Sir, ifThou have borne Himhence, tell me where Thou hastlaid Him, and I will take Himaway. 8
  9. 9. 16 Jesussaith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saithunto him, Rabboni; which isto say, Master. 17 Jesus saithunto her, Touch Me not; for Iam not yet ascended to MyFather: but go to My brethren, and say unto them, I ascendunto My Father, and your Jesus had said, "MyFather; and to My God, and sheep will hear Myyour God. Voice and follow Me.” John 10:27 9
  10. 10. 18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples thatshe had seen the Lord, and that He had spokenthese things unto her.Mary Magdalene and some other women were the first to be sent to tell of Jesus’ resurrection.Luke 24 11 And their (the women’s) words seemedto them as idle tales, and they believed them not. 10
  11. 11. John 20:19 Thenthe same day at evening, being thefirst day of the week, when the doors were shutwhere the disciples were assembled for fear of theJews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saithunto them, Peace be unto you. 20 And when He hadso said, He shewed unto them His hands and Hisside. Then were the disciples glad, when they sawthe Lord. 11
  12. 12. 21 Then said Jesus to themagain, Peace be unto you: asMy Father hath sent Me, evenso send I you. 22 And when Hehad said this, He breathed onthem, and saith untothem, Receive ye the HolyGhost:* 23 Whose soever sinsye remit, they are remittedunto them; and whose soever Only God can forgive sins, but we cansins ye retain, they are pronounceretained. 13. 13. 24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 The otherdisciples therefore said unto him, We have seen theLord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see inHis hands the print of the nails, and put my fingerinto the print of the nails, and thrust my hand intoHis side, I will not believe. He just wanted what they already had. Why didnt Thomas see when the others saw? He did not meet with them that Sunday night. He had gone off on his own. 13
  14. 14. 26 And after eight days againHis disciples were within, andThomas with them: then cameJesus, the doors being shut, andstood in the midst, and said,Peace be unto you. 27 Thensaith He to Thomas, Reachhither thy finger, and beholdMy hands; and reach hither thy They counted the current day and thehand, and thrust it into My side: last day; it wasand be not faithless, but Sunday again.believing. 14
  15. 15. 28 And Thomas answeredand said unto Him, MyLord and my God. 29 Jesussaith untohim, Thomas, because thouhast seen Me, thou hastbelieved: blessed are they(we) that have not seen, andyet have believed. Faith honors God, and God honors faith with blessing. 15
  16. 16. 30 And many other signstruly did Jesus in thepresence of Hisdisciples, which are notwritten in this book: 31 Butthese are written, that yemight believe that Jesus isthe Christ, the Son of God; There is no otherand that believing ye might name by whichhave life through His Name. men and women may be saved!Life more abundantly! 16
  17. 17. Every person must acknowledge that he is a sinner, without hope of eternal life. He must realize and believe that he needs a Savior. He cant pay for his own sins, but Jesus paid the debt for him.Jesus died in our place, for our sins, so that we may have eternal life through His Name. My sins and your sins hung Jesus on that cross. 17
  18. 18. The Shed Blood of Jesus Christ is the only thing that will wash away our sins.If you believe the Truth, the Gospel of Jesus Christ: that Jesus is the Holy Son of God;If you believe that He came to this earth, born of a virgin, to live as a man, yet without sin;If you believe that He gave His life, shedding His Blood for you;If you believe that Jesus was raised from the dead on the third day; 18
  19. 19. All that remains for you to do is to ask. Pray a prayer something like this: Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus Christ.I want to be born of Your Spirit into Your family.I ask You to forgive me of my sins, washing them away in the Blood of Jesus.Lord, be merciful to me a sinner and save me from the bondage of sin and the torments of hell. I thank You Lord for my salvation. Amen. 19
  20. 20. If you sincerely prayed that prayer, You are a born again child of the Living God. Your sins are forgiven; you are cleansed. Your testimony can be as simple as:"I love the Lord and thank God for saving me." 20
