2. Exodus 36 1 Then wrought Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise-hearted man, in whom the Lord put wisdom and understanding to know how to work all manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the Lord had commanded. If we have any ability , any intelligence , any understanding , any talent , any skill , The Lord gave it to us.
3. 2 And Moses called Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every wise-hearted man, in whose heart the Lord had put wisdom, even every one whose heart stirred him up to come unto the work to do it: 3 And they received of Moses all the offering , which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, to make it withal . And they brought yet unto him free offerings every morning. Free = voluntary, abundant, and spontaneous.
4. Moses gave unto Bezaleel and Aholiab everything the people had brought as offerings. He had learned from his Father-in-law, early in their journey, not to be a micromanager ; Appoint men to do the work, and let them do it . Moses had plenty to do ; get out of their way .
5. We must be certain that we choose the right people for any job or ministry, And then trust them to do the work wisely and well . In the early church the job of caring for the needy in the Christian community had become too burdensome for the apostles.
6. Acts 6 3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and Wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
7. Acts 6 5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch: 6 Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed , they laid their hands on them.
8. Acts 6 7 And the Word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith. They chose the right men for the ministry, gave them freedom to do it, and they did it .
9. Moses did the same things with Bezaleel and Aholiab: They were the men God had gifted for the job. He turned it over to them, giving them all the materials and manpower they needed . He trusted them to do the work wisely and well.
10. 4 And all the wise men, that wrought all the work of the sanctuary, came every man from his work which they made; 5 And they spake unto Moses, saying, The people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the Lord commanded to make. 6 And Moses gave command-ment, and they caused it to be proclaimed through-out the camp, saying, Let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanc-tuary. So the people were restrained from bringing. 7 For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.
11. God had just killed several thousand of those who did not want to serve Him. Those who were left had the right mindset at this time. Just as a good pruning can make a plant more productive, A good pruning can do the same for a church.
12. Sometimes God will move out those who will not whole-heartedly serve Him in the church. That's not for us to do; we would uproot the good along with the bad. But, we must not fight against God when He does some pruning. The church will bear more fruit when the unwilling are out of the way.
13. 8 And every wise hearted man among them that wrought the work of the tabernacle made ten curtains of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet: with cherubims of cunning work made he them. Vs 9-13 give details
14. 14 And he made curtains of goats' hair for the tent over the tabernacle: eleven curtains he made them. Vs 15-19 describe curtains
15. Verses 20-38 describes the entire tabernacle, which we have already studied. The lesson today is clear: God told the people what He wanted them to do. Working together and giving generously of their time , talent , and possessions , They did all that God commanded.
