  1. 1. Saul (Paul) was saved on the road to Damascus. Going there to persecute all who believed in Jesus Christ, he instead began to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 781 Salem Road, Rossville, GA 307411December 14, 2011
  2. 2. Feared and rejected by the apostles, he needed a friend.Acts 9:27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him tothe apostles, and declared unto them how he hadseen the Lord in the way, and that He had spokento him, and how he had preached boldly atDamascus in the Name of Jesus. 2
  3. 3. 28 And he was with themcoming in and going out atJerusalem. 29 And he spakeboldly in the Name of theLord Jesus, and disputedagainst the Grecians: but theywent about to slay him.30 Which when the brethrenknew, they brought him downto Caesarea, and sent himforth to Tarsus. 3
  4. 4. 31 Then had the churchesrest throughout all Judaeaand Galilee andSamaria, and wereedified; and walking inthe fear of the Lord, andin the comfort of the HolyGhost, were multiplied. Persecution sent the Christians out to spread the Gospel, but they needed peace in which to build churches and grow in the Lord. 4
  5. 5. Peter began to travel.32 And it came to pass,as Peter passedthroughout all quarters,he came down also tothe saints which dweltat Lydda. 5
  6. 6. 33 And there (Lydda) he found a certain mannamed Aeneas, which had kept his bed eightyears, and was sick of the palsy (paralyzed orenfeebled). 2-5Psalms 103 Bless the Lord, O my soul, andforget not all His benefits: Who forgiveth all thineiniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Whoredeemeth thy life from destruction; Who crowneththee with loving-kindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so thatthy youth is renewed like the eagles. 6
  7. 7. 34-35 AndPeter said untohim, Aeneas, Jesus Christmaketh thee whole: arise, andmake thy bed. And he aroseimmediately. And all that dweltat Lydda and Saron sawhim, and turned to the Lord. He who had been cared for so long, Now began to take care of himself. 7
  8. 8. Eight years in bed Paralyzed Not only healed, butregained all his strength. 8
  9. 9. 36- 37Now there was at Joppaa certain disciple namedTabitha, which by inter-pretation is called Dorcas:this woman was full of goodworks and alms deeds whichshe did. And it came to passin those days, that she wassick, and died: whom whenthey had washed, they laidher in an upper chamber. 9
  10. 10. 38-39 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh (12 miles)to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter wasthere, they sent unto him two men, desiring himthat he would not delay to come to them. ThenPeter arose and went with them. When he wascome, they brought him into the upper chamber:and all the widows stood by him weeping, andshewing the coats and garments which Dorcasmade, while she was with them. 10
  11. 11. 40-41But Peter put them allforth, and kneeleddown, and prayed; andturning him to the bodysaid, Tabitha, arise. And sheopened her eyes: and whenshe saw Peter, she sat up.And he gave her hishand, and lifted her up, andwhen he had called thesaints andwidows, presented her alive. 11
  12. 12. 42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; andmany believed in the Lord. 43 And it came to pass,that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simona tanner.God used the time of trouble and turmoil to spread the Gospel and save those who believed.God used a time of peace to spread the Gospel and save those who would believe.God will use His disciples to do His Work any time that we are willing to go and do. 12
