Acts 3 1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour . The day started at 6 AM, so the ninth hour was 3 PM. Hours of prayer were 9AM, Noon, 3PM Make time to pray throughout the day. Prayer changes things; Mostly, it changes us .
2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; He was over 40 years old, and he had been crippled all his life. 4:22 He lived as a beggar ; his spot was the temple gate called Beautiful -- the eastern gate, between the court of the Gentiles and the women's court . 3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. We never know when the most common-place events may suddenly become Life-changing moments . What if he had laid out of work that day? What if he had gone to another gate ?
4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us . 5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. God had much more and better in store for this man.
6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee : In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. Peter and John had no money; we can't give what we don't have. They had faith in the Name of Jesus Christ. Peter spoke healing to the lame man; "In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk ."
7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. No. He received the Power of God Almighty in his feet and ankle bones.
Sometimes God uses doctors and medicine to heal. But sometimes He heals supernaturally , by the Power of His Holy Spirit.
8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. It's okay to get excited when God is moving.
A face of stoicism is a good thing in time of trouble. "We shall overcome." But in time of blessing, it's okay to smile; even to laugh.
Jeremiah 29 (NIV) 11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart. Don't dread the future; look forward with --
