  2. 2. 22 Samuel 10 1 And it came to pass after this, thatthe king of the children of Ammon died, andHanun his son reigned in his stead. 2 Then saidDavid, I will shew kindness unto Hanun the son ofNahash, as his father shewed kindness unto me.We don’t know the details, but, though theAmmonites were an enemy of Israel, KingNahash had been kind to David in some way.David remembered and was grateful.

  10. 10. 107 And when David heard of it, he sent Joab, and allthe host of the mighty men. 8 And the children ofAmmon came out, and put the battle in array at theentering in of the gate: and the Syrians of Zoba,and of Rehob, and Ishtob, and Maacah, were bythemselves in the field.
  11. 11. 119 When Joab saw that the front of the battle wasagainst him before and behind, he chose of all thechoice men of Israel, and put them in array againstthe Syrians: 10 And the rest of the people hedelivered into the hand of Abishai his brother, thathe might put them in array against the children ofAmmon.Joab took on the Syrians and gave theAmmonites to his brother – Abishai.
  12. 12. 1211 And he said, If the Syrians be too strong for me,then thou shalt help me: but if the children ofAmmon be too strong for thee, then I will comeand help thee.
  13. 13. 1312 Be of good courage, and let us play the men(fight bravely) for our people, and for the cities ofour God: and the LORD do that which seemethHim good.Joab wasn’t just saying, “Whateverwill be will be.”He knew that God would fight for them.They had their trust in the Living God.
  14. 14. 1413 And Joab drew nigh, and the people that werewith him, unto the battle against the Syrians: andthey fled before him. 14 And when the children ofAmmon saw that the Syrians were fled, then fledthey also before Abishai, and entered into the city.So Joab returned from the children of Ammon, andcame to Jerusalem.
  15. 15. 1515 And when the Syrians saw that they were smittenbefore Israel, they gathered themselves together.16 And Hadarezer sent, and brought out the Syriansthat were beyond the river: and they came toHelam; and Shobach the captain of the host ofHadarezer went before them.The devil never quits fightingfor long at a time.Resist him and he will flee, buthe will be back to harass you.
  16. 16. 16Luke 4 13 And when the devilhad ended all the temptation, hedeparted from Him for a season.Jesus was tempted by the devilin the desert, and defeated himin every temptation. Luke 4Our enemy never gives up.We can’t either!!!Don’t stoop at standing time.
  17. 17. 1717 And when it was told David, he gathered allIsrael together, and passed over Jordan, and cameto Helam. And the Syrians set themselves in arrayagainst David, and fought with him.Joab didn’t come back by himself.King David brought the whole army this time.When you find yourself under assault by demons,call on God.He will come and bring victory in your life.
  18. 18. 1818 And the Syrians fled before Israel; and Davidslew the men of seven hundred chariots of theSyrians, and forty thousand horsemen, and smoteShobach the captain of their host, who died there.19 And when all the kings that were servants toHadarezer saw that they were smitten before Israel,they made peace with Israel, and served them. Sothe Syrians feared to help the children of Ammonany more.
  19. 19. 19King David won a great victory!We serve the King of all.We have the victory throughJesus Christ our Lord.Fear not!Stand strong in Him.
