2. Goal of the Project Imagine youwork for the Willy WonkaFactory. You have to invent a candy. The most original and tastycandywillbe made and soldaround the world. To enter in thiscontest, you must: Design yourowncandy (ingredients, shape, flavours, etc) Design the packaging Invent a name and logo for your new candy Write a salespitch to promoteyourcandy Prepare a presentationboardwith an image of yourcandy, the logo, the name of yourcandy bar and yoursalespitchtext.
4. The Sales Pitch Who is your target? (Children, Adults, Elderly people) Get the attention of the reader / listener Focus on what makes your product more original and better Make the good ingredients stand out Use eloquent and positive language.

Sales Pitch - Strutcure 1) Name of yourcandy 2) Tagline: sometingthatwill catch the attention of the reader / listener Example: ‘There’s no wrongway to eat a Reese’s’ 3) Introduction: Focus on the ingredients and whatis good about youringredients. 4) Body of text: Afteryouwrote about youringredients, try to sellyourcandy. Whatmakesitdifferentfromothercandy? 5) Conclude: review 2 or 3 keyelementsveryshortly = whatshould the reader / listenerremember?
6. Instructions Individualwork Can beany type of candy (gum, chocolate, etc) Sales pitch shouldbebetween 75 to 100 words. (one copy for teacher and one copy thatyouwill glue on yourpresentationboard) On presentationboard(Bristol Board) – put an image of yourcandy, the tagline, the logo and the sales pitch text.
7. Evaluation – C3 Grammar, syntax, and vocabulary Strucutre of text (short introduction, body and short conclusion) Originality Varied adjectives to describeyourcandy (use a thesaurus)
8. Schedule March 24th: You will display yourpresentationboards in class and presentyourcandy to the rest of the class. It is not an ‘official’ oral presentation as youwilltaketurnswalkingaround in class and talking about yourcandy. At the end of the class, wewill vote for whichcandywewill ‘make’.
