  2. 2. Galvalume Warranty <ul><ul><li>Material will not, as a result of corrosion from exposure to normal atmospheric conditions, rupture, fail structurally, or perforate within a period of 25 years and 6 months after shipment. </li></ul></ul>
  3. 3. Kynar Warranty <ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Material will resist natural weathering of the paint finish to the extent that material will conform to the manufacturer’s performance standards for 35 years following field installation. </li></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Will not peel, crack, check, or flake to an extent that is apparent on ordinary outdoor visual observation. </li></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Vertical installations will not change color more than 5 NBS (Hunter) units, and non-vertical installations will not change color more than 7 NBS (Hunter) units. (0 is best) </li></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Vertical installations will not chalk more than a number 8 rating, and non-vertical installations will not chalk more than a number 6 rating. (10 is best) </li></ul></ul></ul></ul>

Galvalume & Trinar Warranty <ul><li>These warranties DO NOT APPLY to sheets exposed at any time to corrosive or aggressive atmospheric conditions, including but not limited to areas subject to: </li></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Salt water/marine atmospheres. </li></ul></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Corrosive chemicals, fumes, ash, cement, or animal waste. </li></ul></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Water run-off from dissimilar materials. </li></ul></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Shelter from periodic washing by natural rainfall. </li></ul></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Conditions and circumstances where corrosive fumes or condensates are generated or released inside the building. </li></ul></ul></ul></ul></ul>

These warranties DO NOT APPLY in the event of: <ul><ul><ul><li>Bending or forming where the bend is tighter than 2T for sheet thickness up to 0.30” (0.75mm) and tighter than 4T for sheet thickness 0.031” (0.76mm) and thicker. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>The slope of any section of the roof being flatter than 1/4:12. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Mechanical, chemical, or other damage sustained during shipments, storage, forming, fabrication, or during or after erection. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Forming which involves severe bending or which subjects the coating to alternate compression and tension. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Failure to provide free drainage of water, including internal condensation, from overlaps and all other surfaces of the sheets or panels. </li></ul></ul></ul>Galvalume & Trinar Warranty

These warranties DO NOT APPLY in the event of: <ul><ul><ul><li>Failure to remove debris from overlaps and all other surfaces of the sheets or panels. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Damage to the metallic coating caused by contact with green or wet lumber/ACQ. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Deterioration of sheets or panels caused by contact with green or wet lumber/ACQ. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Wet storage stain caused by water damage or from condensation. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Presence of damp insulation or other corrosive materials. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Deterioration of material caused directly or indirectly by contact with fasteners. Selection of suitable long-lasting fasteners to be used with material rests solely with the Buyer. </li></ul></ul></ul>Galvalume & Trinar Warranty

Substrate Warranties <ul><li>Galvanized = NO WARRANTY </li></ul><ul><li>Galvalume = 20 Year Warranty </li></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Application in proximity to a coastline with surf, the distance from the coast must be at a minimum of 2,800 feet. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Application in proximity to a large Bay, the distance must be at a minimum of 1,200 feet. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><li>Aluminum = 25 or 30 Year Warranty </li></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>25-year Substrate warranty in effect from date of installation for projects within 2,800 feet of a coastal environment containing salt. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>30-year Substrate warranty in effect from date of installation for projects greater than 2,800 feet of a coastal environment containing salt. </li></ul></ul></ul>
  8. 8. Material Claims EXCEPTIONAL Metals sells products to AISI standards with regard to dimensional tolerances, shape, and camber, and to ASTM standards for chemical and physical analysis. For pre- painted products, we follow standards set by the National Coil Coaters Association, the paint manufacturer and the paint applicator. All claims and warranties will be reviewed and settled following the above standards, in conjunction with the claim policy of the originating mill, paint manufacturer, and paint applicator (where applicable).
  9. 9. Material Claims <ul><li>It is the responsibility of the purchaser to document any claims. The required documentation for reliable tracing includes, but is not limited to: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Identification of Drexel coil numbers </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Coil weights </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Date of fabrication </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Date of installation </li></ul></ul><ul><li>In the event that a perceived problem appears in the coil, it is mandatory that the purchaser immediately notifies EXCEPTIONAL Metals, and that further fabrication or installation of the product ceases. </li></ul>
  10. 10. Material Claims Claims will be honored only when the required documentation is submitted, EXCEPTIONAL Metals investigation is complete, and material is made available to EXCEPTIONAL Metals in its original form for return. In the event of fabricated panels or parts, EXCEPTIONAL Metals will not be responsible for amounts in excess of 2,000 pounds, or 2,000 square feet of the fabricated products. Installation of defective panels or parts is at the sole discretion and expense of the customer.
  11. 11. What to look for? <ul><li>Always inspect product for defect prior to installation. </li></ul><ul><li>Look for red rust in the field of the panel </li></ul><ul><li>Feel for a course surface </li></ul><ul><li>Spotty black areas are a result of storage stain. </li></ul><ul><li>Report anything immediately to your supplier who will guide you through a checks and balance process. </li></ul><ul><li>A positive note…quality assurance on products coming out of our domestic mills is very good. </li></ul><ul><li>Warranty is passed through from the mill source. </li></ul>
