[La Salle University - USA] International Pathways Program

  1. 1. Requirementsand Getting Started This program begins in August 2017 and continues for 2 semesters. You will take courses in your major as well as academic English courses to help you build your confidence in the classroom. To be accepted into the program your TOEFL score should be 64 or above on the iBT,or 5.5 on the IELTS. If you haven’t already applied, you should apply online at http://www.lasalle.edu/admission/#ap plynow International students acceptedinto the International Pathways program are consideredfor scholarships. Curriculum includes courses in Academic English, Math, Computer Science, Business, Arts / Science, and History. All courses count for academic credit. For more informationplease contact:Jie Jenny Li at: lij@lasalle.edu International Pathways Program La Salle University La Salle University’s International Pathways program provides academically qualified international students who still need English training FULL admission to La Salle University. The program includes tutoring, culture adjustment, and integration into campus life. Our program helps your prepare for degree-level study at La Salle. Program Description You will receive one-on-one tutoring each week, along with academic advising, group study sessions, and meetings with the Director of the program throughout the first year. “Pathways at La Salle helped me reach my goal of pursuing a bachelor’s degree in the USA.” Study groups meet regularly to help each other with homework, rev iewingmaterial, and socializing. As a La Salle student you can liv e on campus in one of our dorms, attend sportingevents, and study in the library. We hope to see you soon at La Salle! The International Pathways program at La Salle is a full admission program for students who still need academic English but are ready to begin their undergraduate studies. International Pathways Sample Course Schedule Fall 2017 Semester Spring 2018 Semester INST 105 (Academic Reading/Writing) – 3 credits ENG 110 (College Writing – Persuasion) – 3 credits INST 106 (Presentation/Critical Thinking Skills) – 3 credits HIS 155 (Themes in American History) – 3 credits HIS 251 (World History) – 3 credits 3 credits in your major CSC 152 (Intro to Computer Science)- 3 credits 3 credits in your major MTH 101 (Math) – 3 credits 3 credits in your major Note: Courses depend on your field of study (major), your English proficiency, and whether you choose 12 or 15 credits per semester. Tuition and Fees Fall Semester Spring Semester Tuition, 12 or more credits = $20,200** **All International Students will be considered for scholarships. Applying is free and if you qualify, you will receive your scholarship award with your undergraduate Pathways acceptance letter. Do I need TOEFL / IELTS or SAT scores? TOEFL or IELTS are required, and your official high school transcript. For the best scholarship consideration we recommend you submit your SAT scores, if taken. SAT is not required, but does increase the chances you will get a quality scholarship. Is there a deadline to apply? Please apply early as the deadline for applications is July 15th, 2017. If accepted, you will be required to successfully complete Level 5 of our English Language Institute (ELI)before beginning the International Pathways program.
