Marshall Plan 1947 <ul><li>The U.S. primary plan to rebuild Europe and repel communism </li></ul><ul><li>The Plan was offered to USSR but they refused </li></ul><ul><li>The plan lasted 4 years and rebuilt much of Europe and prevented countries from turning to communism </li></ul><ul><li>The program spent 13 billion </li></ul>

Berlin Blockade <ul><li>After WWII Germany was divided into four zones </li></ul><ul><li>U.S., Britain, France combine their zones into one free zone </li></ul><ul><li>The city of Berlin is in the Soviet controlled zone </li></ul><ul><li>Stalin cuts it off from the west by closing roads and railroads from the west </li></ul><ul><li>Truman orders Berlin Airlift to carry supplies into Berlin </li></ul>
