These tips will help you outline your PowerPoint:<br />Plan out your overall goal of presentation<br />Research your topic and use sources<br />Understand the audience you are presenting to<br />Practice and time your presentation<br />Plan Carefully to Create and Effective Presentation<br />-You should first plan and outline the presentation before adding content<br />Outlining<br />

Use The Slide Master <br />Using Slide Layouts<br />Helps you save time and effort<br />Formatting to the slide master automatically updates to the rest of your slides <br />Creates a professional and consistent presentation while allowing some variety and creativity<br />For example: add a company logo to the slide master and it will appear on all slides<br />Create your own slides<br />You can also customize your own slides<br />Use a blank slide to create your own unique slide<br />

Effective Use of Images<br />Pros of effective imagery<br />Cons of misusing images<br />Images can be a distraction<br />Too many pictures hinders your audience from understanding the key points<br />Clip-Art<br />Avoid using cliché Clip Art that many people have already seen<br />Adds visual interest for audience<br />Adding images will keep your audience engaged<br />Explain abstract points<br />Images help your audience understand your point<br />Adds information to the text<br />Explaining some information through images can be better than text<br />

Designing Your Slides<br />Standardize <br />Have consistent design, positions, colors, styles, effects and transitions.<br />Colors should contrast<br />Limit Information<br />Include only necessary essential information to avoid clutter<br />Text<br />Should be about 7 words per line, no more than 7 lines a slide<br />Font size 18-48, larger font for more important information<br />Avoid fancy fonts, abbreviations and acronyms<br />Graphics<br />Should enhance, compliment and balance the slide, not overwhelm<br />No more than two graphics per slide<br />
