Micro Manage

 1. 1. To Micro manage or not?
Dr.sarma
2. 2. Do you know why you're doing it?
A few minutes of introspection and self analysis about the reasons why you can't leave people alone. May reveal as to why you do that to your subordinates
It may be that, deep down, you don't have faith on your own people
3. 3. Do you know why?
or perhaps you feel insecure and so can't stay out of the loop for long.
"It may not be lack of trust but a lack of belief that your people can do what needs to be done.
4. 4. define your role.
One of the biggest causes of micro-management is a failure to recognize what one is paid to do
particularly if one came up through the hard work and promotions tendency to micro manage is high.
One needs to redefine that measure of success so you don't get caught in operations
5. 5. Evil or not?
Could it be that micromanagement isn’t a evil at all?
Could it be that it’s just plain pita—pain in the ass ?
“YES!” And I think most would agree yet it can be never eliminated .
6. 6. What to do to get over this
If you find yourself irritated when others make decisions without consulting you. Check yourself:
What is wrong with my style ?
Am I power hungry ?
Or am I simply over anxious in trying to make sure that things are running smoothly?
How can I let go of the reigns to allow others some autonomy?
7. 7. How to get away
If You are spending time telling people exactly what to do and how.
Ask yourself: Is this kind of minute instruction really necessary?
there a way to give less and allow employees to find solutions themselves?
8. 8. Micro manage or train
There is an old Chinese proverb that says
Give a man a fish you cure his hunger for a day
Teach a man how to fish
You cure his hunger for the life
Micro managing is like giving a fish
Instead train people to perform as good as you can
9. 9. Why Yankees lost?
the Yankees lost because Aceves gave up the winning run, and the question is, what was he doing in there in the first place?
Well, Girardi knew that Robertson relies on his fastball, and that Kendrick is a good fastball hitter. So he replaced him with the more versatile Aceves.
Had the move paid off, it would have looked like a brilliant bit of micro-managing on Girardi's part. What a great use of little-used stats! But it didn't. The move backfired and he lost.
10. 10. What about people who are micromanaged
think about it from the perspective of the employee.
Sometimes it’s easy to get addicted to being micro-managed since it takes away any sense of responsibility;
that is, if I screw up, I’m not responsible, my boss is. So there’s no fear of failure.
Furthermore, there’s no reason to make any tough decisions (which would certainly bring a reward) because there’s no sense of having the authority to do so. I’d use the word “stuckness” to describe that.Ref:Steven Rossi
11. 11. Want to build team leadership?
One Incredibly Important Characteristic Of Successful Organizations
There is one incredibly important characteristic of a successful team or organization.that is team leadership
It is inherent and cannot be trained or programmed.
Especially if micromanaged great teams never get built
With this trait a team can weather the storms of life together. When this is an attribute of an organization, regardless of the struggles it encounters, the vision can be accomplished.
