  3. 3. This is a student team approach to curriculum assessment and faculty assessment. NYCOM-2013
  4. 4. Professionalism <ul><li>How the CFA plan works </li></ul><ul><li>CFA stands for Class/faculty Assessment </li></ul><ul><li>This type of assessment was adopted from the Mayo Medical school. </li></ul>

Code of Honor <ul><li>Points of interest </li></ul>Professionalism-the hidden curriculum Maintaining high standards of ethics Demonstrating responsibility and commitment to the medical profession. Setting the role model for others in the medical field. Making sound decisions based on experience and training. Being involved.

Code of Honor <ul><li>Points of interest </li></ul>As part of your Professional Responsibility You will be volunteered to be on one of 13 student CFA assessment teams for one course in two years. You will be assisted by a 2 nd year Medical student who was in the CFA program in the spring of 2009. You will also be guided by a faculty Group Advisor, as well as the Course Director. I am your CFA Student Ambassador!
  7. 7. Code of Honor <ul><li>Points of interest </li></ul>This is an opportunity to speak out in a professional manner to help improve the lectures, faculty, and the curriculum at NYCOM. NYCOM
  8. 8. Code of Honor <ul><li>Points of interest </li></ul>Each lecture everyday your entire team will take notes on the presentation, lecture, discussion and whether it follows suggested guidelines. You will also be evaluating the instructor for the class. This includes all labs, Anatomy, ICC, DPR, and OMM.
  9. 9. Code of Honor <ul><li>Points of interest </li></ul>NYCOM I was involved in the CFA plan pilot and that experience helped me greatly in my 3 rd year rotation.
  10. 10. Code of Honor <ul><li>Points of interest </li></ul>In our weekly CFA meeting we discussed different lectures and presentations round robin-style. This process came in handy later on in my residency.

  15. 15. A report is generated to go back to the CFA Students as to what recommendations were adopted Action report to CFA team on adopted recommendations
